THE THIRD ORDINARY MEETING OF THE THIRD SESSION OF THE NINTH ASSEMBLY OF THE GOMOA WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HELD AT THE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HALL ON 24TH DECEMBER, 2025.

The Third Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Ninth Assembly of the Gomoa West District Assembly was held on 24th December 2025, at the district assembly hall. In attendance are the Hon. Member of Parliament (Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah), the District Chief Executive Officer (Alhaji Mohammed Kassim), the District Coordinating Director (Esq. Marian Mensah Daakwah), fifty-two (52) Hon assembly members, Departments and Units Heads of the Assembly and staff of the Gomoa West District Assembly.

At the meeting, the District Chief Executive (Hon. Mohammed Kassim) expressed his sincere appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Gomoa West for his continuous support, particularly his financial assistance towards the development of the district. He also thanked all Assembly Members, both elected and appointed, as well as the Presiding Member, for their overwhelming support during his confirmation. According to the DCE, the collective commitment and wholehearted contributions of Members ensured the successful conduct of the confirmation process.

He further commended Assembly Members for their dedication to their communities, noting that the frequent calls and pressures brought before him reflect their genuine desire to promote grassroots development. He expressed hope that, during the second coming of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Gomoa West District would receive its fair share of national development. He emphasised that unity, cooperation, and teamwork remain essential to achieving this goal.

Additionally, He informed Assembly Members and Heads of Departments and Units of the assembly that the Presiding Member’s Office is fully prepared and available for use, in recognition of the Presiding Member’s role as the Speaker of the Assembly.

The Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to all Heads of Department and Assembly Members for their dedication to duty. He particularly commended Assembly Members who have taken the initiative to implement development projects in their respective communities single-handedly.

The MP highlighted the importance of Assembly Members in national development, stating that this recognition informed the President’s decision to introduce allowances for Assembly Members. He urged all stakeholders to conduct their duties with decency and professionalism. He assured the Assembly of his continuous commitment to working closely with the District Assembly to promote development in Gomoa West.

Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah further encouraged Members, especially Committee Heads, to set aside partisan considerations and work objectively for the overall development of the district. He stressed that development efforts should benefit all residents, irrespective of political affiliation.

The MP also outlined several development projects planned for implementation in the coming year. These include electricity extension projects, installation of solar systems, and the construction of teachers’ bungalows. He expressed confidence that by the end of next year, all communities in Gomoa West District would have access to electricity.

The meeting ended successfully, with the District Coordinating Director thanking all members and staff of the assembly for their support and affirming her commitment to working closely with all members to improve the living conditions of the district.
