Poor sanitation has become a menace in the district. Given this, the assembly organized a massive clean-up exercise at Ankamu on Saturday 1st July 2023 in the hours of 6:00 am – 11:00 am. The exercise is initiated by the Central Regional Coordinating Council on the first Saturday of every month.

Environmental health officers of the Gomoa West District Assembly on 6th October 2023 at Ford City FM did a health talk on household toilet construction and refuse disposal mechanisms to help reduce some health challenges like Cholera, malaria, fever etc.
