Mumford, Tuesday, May 3, 2022 The management of Gomoa West District Assembly organized Town Hall Meeting at Mumford with efforts to bring governance to the people of the vicinity. The programme was attended by identified groups in Apam, Mumford, Dago, Hwida and Obiri such as the chiefs, queen mothers, Assembly members, unit Committee members, local business associations, farmer-based organizations, religious leaders, market queens and traders, fisherfolks and other interested stakeholder. Present at the programme also included Heads of Departments, Heads of state agencies and utility providers.
The Honourable District Chief Executive, Mr Bismark Basie Nkum present the status of implementation of Development plans of the Assembly from 2017 to 2021 with emphasis on 2021. He categorized the projects into Education, health, water, sanitation, transport and economy. some of the projects being implemented of interest to the attendees were two sets of 6-unit teacher’s quarters at Dago and Hwida, construction of Mumford landing beach, police station at Mumford, on-going works on health centre at Mumford an dredging of the lagoon at Mumford. Others included renovation of Dago Market, drainage works on Apam-Mumford road. In all, he enumerated over 120 projects undertaken during the period under review.
The Honourable Presiding Member, Mr. Roger Amoako, also took turn to take the meeting through the Bye-Laws of the Assembly.
The programme programme was aired live on Radio Peace (88.7 FM) from 11 am to 2:pm. It was chaired by Nana Aba Kadzie of Gomoa Akyemfo.
