Gomoa West District Assembly in the Central Region of Ghana celebrated Ghana’s 66th Independence anniversary in Apam the capital of Gomoa West on the 6th of March, 2023.
The theme for this year’s event is “Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose”.
Scores of people from the district and beyond thronged to the Apam Methodist Junior High School Park to commemorate the Day Ghana formally gained independence from British colonial rule on 6th March 1957, becoming the first Sub-Saharan African country to achieve independence from the British. The colourful ceremony saw the presence of Hon. Roger Amoako, Gomoa West Presiding Member, Mr Martin Twumasi, District Coordinating Director, Ms Cecilia Aboagye, District Education Director, Departmental Heads, Opinion leaders, Schools, the general public and the press.
