CONSULTATIVE MEETING ON MUMFORD FISH LANDING SITE PROJECT

On 18th May, 2022, Hon. Bismark Baisie Nkum, the District Chief Executive of Gomoa West, led the Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Fredrick Obeng Adom, together with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team at the Office of the President, and the Project Consultant, Mr Ben Reeskamp for a consultation meeting. The meeting was to engage the people of Gomoa West, particularly the indigenes of Mumford on the progress of the Landing Site Project.

The people expressed the hope that the project, which has been on the community’s wish list for the past Sixty-Six (66) years, would become a reality by the scheduled date and thanked the Ministry for their regular engagements.

Their final praise went to Hon. Bismark Baisie Nkum for his vision to make the Mumford Fishing Landing project a reality.

The government in its quest to ensuring sustainable economy and also provide its citizenry jobs embarked on Fishing Landing Site Projects through the Costal Development Authority (CODA) on the coastal zones of Ghana.

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo’s vision is to ensure that the beaches and the fishing industry are hygienic for the people to work to improve their fishing activities which would help improve the livelihood of the Fisherfolks in the country.
