On Sunday, September 21, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa West, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, joined the chiefs and people of Gomoa Dunkwa to celebrate their annual Akwambo festival. He lauded the chiefs and people of the community for preserving its rich cultural heritage and the unity that binds them together.
Hon. Mohammed Kassim, in his address to the people, assured residents that the government is aware of their water supply challenges, hence the government remains committed to improving their lives by making access to a clean and potable water supply in Gomoa Dunkwa a top priority. He explained that efforts have been made to drill new boreholes while existing ones are being rehabilitated, all in an attempt to improve the water supply system for the people. He said, “We are dedicated to providing our people with reliable access to clean water, which is essential for good health, hygiene, and economic development. I urge all stakeholders to collaborate with us in achieving this goal”.
As part of his support for the festival, the DCE made a cash donation to assist in its successful celebration. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with the chiefs and people of Gomoa Dunkwa to address their development needs.
The chiefs thanked the DCE for his support and assured him of their support for the development of their communities.
